Program Aide training is designed to help girls gain skills needed to work with younger girls, peers and adult volunteers. Program Aides work with younger Girl Scouts at council programs, summer camps, troop meetings/events, and service unit events. This is a great way for older girls to share their Girl Scout experiences with younger girls, learn valuable leadership skills and gain service hours.
Evening Exploration HikeJoin us as we hike and explore the natural surroundings during sunset and evening.
Museum of ToleranceThis is one event you don’t want to miss. This will be an empowering day for all those who attend. Learn how you can make a difference, take personal responsibility, and embrace those who are different from yourself. You will tour this amazing museum and you come away moved and changed.
WaterwaysThis event will cover the basics of canoeing and kayaking. The afternoon will be spent on the water. All levels of experience are welcome to attend this event.

This is a great way for older girls to share their Girl Scout experiences with younger girls, learn valuable leadership skills and gain service hours.
Prerequisite: Girls must have completed Program Aide training. Take the LEAD in our new summer leadership development program. This summer at El Ranchito and Marine Landing day camps, trained Program Aides have the opportunity to participate in our new LEAD program. Enhance your expertise in communication, team building, leadership, and group dynamics. In this leadership role, you will also explore the needs of children in a camp environment; discover the basics of developing and delivering new camp programs, and camp operations. LEADs will work closely with Unit Leaders, campers and the LEAD advisor. LEADs may work towards IP’s and focus books. Fee: $25 per week Sign ups are still open for LEAD sessions and the registration for LEAD can be found in the Summer Opportunities book which is online.
Come and experience the magic of Skyland Ranch! Fresh air, tall trees, and all the fun and excitement of the outdoors! Located in an enchanting pine and oak forest near Idyllwild CA, Skyland Ranch offers a traditional Girl Scout camp experience. Let's Get Started:ENTERING GRADES 7 AND UP.
Note: Extended Weekend includes transportation from camp. Transportation to camp, on Friday evening or Saturday morning is the responsibility of the girl’s family or friends. You will have the opportunity to arrange carpools at the Extended Weekend Meeting. Renaissance Faire at Lady Skyland’s RanchENTERING GRADES 9 AND UP AND COMPLETED PROGRAM AIDE TRAINING. Come and put into practice all of your leadership skills. Spend 5 days with a cabin or outdoor unit helping the counselors run camp and participate in some of the camper activities.
River RunnersPrerequisite: Girls must be 12 as of spring 2008, in good physical condition and a strong swimmer. Girls must be able to swim with their head down in deep water. A swim test may be required before the trip. This trip is back by popular demand with a few new additions. Enjoy a weekend on the water. This weekend is geared for those seeking high adventure and fun. Join us as we navigate the river together. On Friday, we will travel to Kernville and set up camp. Drivers and interested adults are needed and encouraged to join the fun. This event is fun for all who join in. All meals are included from Saturday breakfast to Sunday lunch.
Surf CampPre-Requisite: Girls must be 11 as of spring 2008, in good physical condition, and an excellent swimmer. Girls must be able to swim with their head down in deep water. A swim test may be required before the trip. Do you want to learn to surf? This is your chance to catch a wave. Join other girls on this San Diego adventure. At “Camp Surf” you will learn the basics of surfing and boogie boarding from an international staff. Other camp activities include climbing, bouldering, archery, and crafts. Let the waves put you to sleep as we enjoy two nights under the stars. Activities and food are included. Parents and advisors are encouraged to attend; we need additional drivers as well as advisors for the girls.
Spa Slumber PartyAre you ready to pamper yourself? Spend the day with your friends getting professional manicures and pedicures at Super Nails One, exploring hair styles and giving luxurious facials. Also try your hand at creating your very own personal beauty product. After all of this relaxing, you’ll be ready to party the night away with movies, pizza, and popcorn at El Ranchito.
