HAPPY NEW YEAR! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are looking forward to an exciting 2008.

Website

We encourage you to visit our new redesigned website. Our website is one of our most important communication tools and one that we hope provides you with the information you need. Please visit the new “Troop Leader” section for ongoing information, tips and resources. If you have any tips, ideas and/or suggestions for this section please send them to Marie.  We are also always interested in your troop happenings. Please send photos and information to Marie as well.

Cookie Program

Yes, it is that time again! This year’s theme is “Make it a Hit!” We have two new cookies this year; a sugar-free chocolate chip and a yummy lemon chalet crème. Below are the important dates to remember. Please also note that Cookie Training is required for all Cookie Managers. Please visit the website for the training information, forms, and additional information regarding the cookie program. Our cookie vendor, Little Brownie Baker has added quite a few new features to their website, including an entire section designed specifically for the girls. You may visit them here, www.littlebrowniebakers.com.

Summer Opportunities Guide 2008

Ready to plan ahead? Our Summer Opportunity Guide is finished and available via our website. Included in this guide are our summer camp programs, introduction of our new LEAD program for older girls, and specialty camps. Summer Camp registration will open on Friday February 1st.

LEAD

LEAD is our newly designed older girl summer leadership program. Program Aids will have the opportunity to work with girls, enhance their leadership skills, learn tools for effective communication, teambuilding, group dynamics, and earn community service hours through this program.
LEAD participants also explore the needs of children in a camp environment; discover the basics of developing and delivering new camp programs, and camp operations.  LEADs will work closely with Unit Leaders, campers and the LEAD advisor.  LEADs may work towards IP’s and focus books.
The LEAD program is offered at both our El Ranchito and Marine Landing summer day camps. Each program site will have a designated staff member who will be responsible for the LEAD program serving as a mentor and advisor to the participants.

Older Girl Newsletter

Do you have an older girl troop? (Cadets and Senior) Did you know we produce an Enewsletter specifically for them? Girls, leaders, and parents may sign up for this newsletter on our website. Archive editions are also available on the Older Girl page of the website.
